Is Thổ Chu island getting an airport?

Not yet; the plan has only passed appraisal. Per Công Luận (30/10/2026), the Construction Ministry issued the appraisal of the Thổ Chu airport plan for 2021–2030: a domestic, shared civil-military ICAO 4C airport for about 20,000 passengers a year. Illustration: Phu Quoc Pulse.
